In anticipation of their full-length debut, Palimpsest, the members of Caftan invite you to an unplugged set that will push the boundaries of their psych-folk sound. Though a majority of the album has already been written, the band will spend the summer completing its title track, which they plan to reveal live and in concert at AMOC Presents. Because of the unique characteristics of the space - a renovated church in Oak Cliff - the band will reimagine their songs to feature acoustic and electronic chamber instrumentation. The writing as well as the performance will feature guest collaborations from within the Dallas music scene, lending to a communal celebration on August 4th.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Caftan is a Dallas-based band formed by Jonathan Bustos, Cory Kosel, Jake Nice, and Braden Socia. In August 2020 the group traveled to Wayfarer Records in Central TX to record their debut EP Where You Lead You which guides listeners through psychedelic landscapes lush with banjo, guitars, synthesizers, and intricate vocal harmonies. In the year since its release, the band has workshopped new material in cities across Texas. Their newest collection of songs takes a jammier approach to their signature sound, combining ambient elements with baroque pop, twangy country, and prog rock.
