Don’t miss this first-time ever workshop featuring Dallas based sitarist Amie Maciszewski and Austin based dancer Anuradha Naimpally, as they conduct a unique workshop that brings together classical Indian arts and yoga. No experience necessary!
Discover mudras or hand gestures and how they are used extensively for healing as well as aesthetics. Explore breath as an essential element of both yoga, music, and dance. Learn how chakra alignment can be achieved through nada yoga, the yoga of sound. Awaken forces within your body to experience movement that is intentional and meditative.
Participants will learn specific chants, mudras, and breathing during the course of this two-session workshop. By the end of the second workshop, participants will be able to perform a moving meditation while chanting that explores their own physical and spiritual selves as an embodiment of life.
Each session is self-contained but participants are encouraged to register for both. Those who do both sessions will receive recorded music and video for the moving meditation as well as have the option of performing this during the Third Annual Declare World Peace concert on Saturday, September 15th at Arts Mission Oak Cliff.
