The uncanny valley is a hypothesized reaction to objects that have human qualities but lack the fundamental elements of real human beings, leading to a feeling of uneasiness. this is mostly observed through animatronics and robots that give the viewer a sense of fear or imminent danger. many have speculated these reactions are rooted in primal human instincts for self preservation, human identity and mortality. these uncanny elements or characteristics can call into question the perception of reality and what is normal or abnormal. for instance, do Psychopaths see the rest of us in the uncanny valley all the time?

The uncanny valley also expresses the realization that the unknown instils fear and when things fall into this “valley” it can be both disturbing and terrifying. this show is a visual exploration of this theme.
