What's Your Offer? by Willow DuBose
December 8 | Shows at 7pm & 8:30pm | $15
What's Your Offer? is an intimate interaction between audience and performer. Everyone who is invited to the auction (bought a ticket to the show), gets a chance to bid. As audience members hold up their numbered bidding paddles, the movement that is numerically assigned will be performed, per request. This work will explore the concept of constantly having(internal or external) expectations placed on us and persistently working to maintain what is being asked of us. There's only one chance to participate and each show will be unique, orchestrated by the audience members who join us.
There will be two showings at 7pm and 8:30pm in the Underground. Each will run about 45 minutes. Doors open 30 minutes before each show.
About the Artist
Willow DuBose is a creative artist that strives to develop a space in which our energetic body in correlation to human nature is prioritized through movement. She explores this through improvisation scores and through forward thinking teaching exercises. As a Booker T . Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts alumni, Willow has had the opportunity to perform works by artists such as Peter Chu, Azure Barton and Kyle Abraham. She has been honored as a YoungArts finalist and award winner, as well as a Presidential Scholar at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she currently trains. Here, she has performed works by Robert Moses and Margo Sappington. As she moves forward with her career, she will continue exploring the creative space in collaboration with other artists, while developing her concepts for new choreographic works that encompasses her appreciation for intuitive movement and our innate ability to emote as humans.
