July 1st | Ways to skin an apple: A Workshop On Patience
1:00pm-3:00pm | Free
Prompted by the question- what item was used to teach you patience?- Clark invites community members to explore the ways in which inanimate objects can be vessels to express tenderness, intimacy, and care.
I was loved enough to be allowed to act a a brat in her house- in her kitchen. Except at the time I didn't feel like a brat, an inconvenience- she made me feel like my disdain for apple skin was justified- like her skinning apples for me was reasonable. I know now that her patience toward me was a symptom of her love. In this workshop, participants are asked to bring with them memories, objects, sounds, and even smells found within their homes that demonstrate care through patience.
