Enjoy an evening of celebration and movement with DJ Heaven Above, Margiela Mage, and two guest DJS and artists: TWEAKS and Miss Hoochie. Hosted by The Rising Pisces, this event will consist of 4 DJ sets with varying genres, including hip hop, juke, club, house, and techno music. There will be crochet, jewelry, and art vendors to visit with, a themed tattoo flash, and an art exhibit of works done by local black queer artists to look at when you need to wind down. For all of those with a little sugar in their tank, stay sweet and get low with us.

WHO WE ARE

FEM-N-NEM is a collective founded in Dallas, Texas by black queer multidisciplinary artists dedicated to creating safe spaces for underrepresented communities. Conceptualized by DJ, Producer, Musician, and Mixed Media Artist Heaven-Leigh Pettis, FEM-N-NEM was birthed from a need for third spaces and community connection that prioritized black, queer individuals who just want groove. M. Mason, a Southern-born Interdisciplinary artist and Social Media Specialist, provides creative direction and content strategy. Soso Davis specializes in graphic design, digital art, and animation, aiding the team with colorful visuals. Daisy Ambani, a Houston-bred event organizer specializing in music production, DJing, and original music to help curate sound and creative direction. Together we aim to empower black queer people to express themselves to the fullest through movement and fellowship.

WHAT WE DO

We bring people together. We curate events that address the direct need in our community for connection and vulnerability, prioritizing safety and freedom without compromising ideals. Black, queer spaces that are free from the stigma that comes with existing as a Queer POC in the South are rare, and FEM-N-NEM aims to rise to the occasion.
