Community Ofrenda: Día de los Muertos at AMOC

Honor our beloved dead at our Community Ofrenda in the AMOC Underground, presented in partnership with Danna Banana of Dream Clay Studio and Casa de Paz Montessori. All ages are welcome!

Sun. Nov 1 | 3–5pm | Free

Join us as we build a community ofrenda together to honor and remember our beloved dead. Día de los Muertos is a celebration of memory, love, and the connection between the living and those who came before us. This afternoon is a chance to share that tradition as a community. The event is presented in partnership with Danna Banana of Dream Clay Studio and Casa de Paz Montessori.

Everyone is invited to add to the ofrenda. Bring a photo or memento of a loved one who has died, or simply come to reflect and celebrate. Please keep in mind that the altar is only for those who have died.

Make something for the ofrenda

  • Frame making (free): Decorate a frame for a photo of someone you’re remembering.

  • Paper marigolds (free): Craft cempasúchil, the bright orange flowers said to guide spirits home.

  • Sugar skull decorating with Danna Banana ($25 per skull): Decorate your own calavera. Only 20 spots are available, and registration is in person only, so come early.

We’ll have snacks and drinks for you to enjoy.
