Acting Class w/ Taylor Harris

Mondays | 6:30PM | $60 for 4 Classes

You’re already good.

You’re not missing the secret technique that is going to reconfigure your performance into a series of jaw dropping moments. It’s already inside of you, but when we don’t get the chance to practice, it becomes more difficult and elusive to find every time we book.

Explore your instrument and your process. Play and experience the scene without the pressure of booking the job. Or getting a good review. Or hoping your mom tells you,“Good job. I could hear every word you said the whole time.”

Class Structure:

  • Week 1 – Get out of your head
    Exploring Viewpoints, Space, and Shape
Through Viewpoints-based ensemble work, we’ll explore how movement, space, and physical awareness can unlock new pathways into storytelling. This week is designed to quiet the analytical brain and reconnect you to impulse, presence, and play.

  • Week 2 – Connect the text to yourself
Connecting Table Work to Embodied Work
We begin the process of personalizing the work. Instead of focusing on “playing the character,” we explore how the language lives inside your own instincts, impulses, and individuality, allowing the text to become something active, immediate, and uniquely yours.

  • Week 3 – Activate it in real time
    Scene Campfires
Using the transparency of experience developed in Week 1 and the personalization from Week 2, actors will play, respond, and allow the work to evolve through real-time discovery.

  • Week 4 – Shape it collaboratively
Collaborating with Your Director and Scene Partners
This final week focuses on shaping the work through collaboration. Actors will refine their scenes with direction, learning how to integrate feedback, align with a director’s vision, and stay grounded in their preparation while remaining responsive to their scene partner.

By the end of this class, you’ll walk away with the tools and confidence to craft performances that will make people say, “Only YOU could’ve done that!”
